Last winter we had a heavy, wet snow that blanketed everything it fell on. This old tandem bicycle was a restoration project my son hasn't gotten to yet. It's new temporary home is leaning against this tree. It seems sad to watch it deteriorate in the elements and yet it looked so beautiful and interesting with a heavy snow covering.

When I first saw the photo I new I wanted to paint it vertical, at least the initial washes, to capture the colors as they ran down the paper. I'm not often thrilled with a painting, but this one brings a big smile to my face. I hope it does to yours.
