Nothing can prepare the patriotic heart for their first glimpse of this elegant lady standing in the harbor. The only experience I have to compare it to was when I stepped onto the Great Wall Of China.
Recently I made my first trip to New York City. Every preconceived notion I held flew out the window when I arrived. I found the city extremely fascinating, the people friendly, albeit very busy. It seemed at every turn of the corner was another famous sight that I had only seen on TV.

Originally started as part of a series of ocean scenes for a client who was commissioning some works. This one got set aside for a month or two. Looking at it with a fresh eye allowed me to make some small additions to the painting that give it the finished appearance I was looking for.
