Henry I


My grandson Henry is a very photogenic young man. I love taking photos of him; always looking for that "special" picture that will make a great painting. This one was taken when he was about 7 months old. The backdrop were some yellow 1950's suitcases. I manipulated the colors away from reality. I was after a loose, impressionistic background. I wanted to make sure the the blues on the cool side came through. This was one of the more challenging painting I've done.   OK..I've worked on Henry just a bit more.
